A week ago Oct, 26 I was checking out the headlines on democracynow.org, my main news source. I read that 16 people were killed in Pakistan by an unmanned aircraft aka drone.
The story went on that there was supposed to be some top level Taliban character there. So they just sent a remote controll aircraft (drone) to blow the hell out of it. For me this on top of all of the things I know and have learned about the US’ Wars of Terror, it was the thread that broke my back. It was done in my country, the US’ name. It was in Pakistan, a sovereign nation, who’s crime I suppose is being next to Afghanistan and sharing Pashto tribal areas. The main thing though that just got to the bottom is the thought that given just an inch of evidence that a top level guy was in a building, the military had the right to just so easily and effortlessly launch an aircraft , then by remote control kill blindly and scot free, 16 people. I know it definitely is not the first time this has happened and unfortunately I have the feeling it wont be the last, but it made me so angry about the sheer evil and injustice in this act that I had to spew my thoughts on paper. I hope that somehow you can benefit from reading them. Thanks. KW
Please stop.
Please Stop!
Please stop "disarming in the name of freedom."
Please stop "spreading democracy."
The world can not afford more murder.
The world can not afford more loss of innocent people.
The world’s family and friends are being killed, mamed, demoralized.
Our friends and family are being killed, mamed, and demoralized.
Our friends and family are guilty of birth as the "other."
Our friends and family can’t defend themselves against unmanned drones.
Our friends and family are being killed by remote controll.
RC for short.
Our friends and family are called civilians
their deaths are called casualties
too casual they are when our ties become their nooses
too casual the deaths of our friends and our family
"Unmanned drones caused 16 civilian casualties today in Pakistan."
How formal should this casual thing be written?
Maybe: Why there a been 16 civ cazez in Pakistan taday. They been caused by one o’ them
RC planes. Don’ cha know?
Wow RC planes! What a great technology. Without comparments for people they can probably
be much more fuel efficient. Without people in them, for the driver it’s risk free!
Civ cazez on the cheap baby! Ooohh yeah that sounds good. We got to use it in sales.
civ cazez on the cheap! Man sure has a nice ring to it!
CANT USE IT!
Why not?
ITS LOOSING THE WAR.
Eh? It’s just a cost of war some of our poor in our infantry some civz over there. It’s
gonna happen. Might as well do it on the cheap right?
CANT USE IT IT’S LOOSING THE WAR. YA KILL THEIR FRIENDS AND FAMILY, THEY’LL ALL BE
AGAINST U. WE’RE TRYING TO SPREAD DEMOCRACY AREN’T WE? WHAT’LL HAPPEN IF THEY’RE ALL AGAINST
US?
We can’t keep loosing our friends and family!
We can’t keep loosing our brothers and sisters!
Our brothers and sisters,
they speak ancient Pashto words. Some know Persian. Some Uzbek Turkish. Some of them are
Muslim and probably say Selam Alekum, I come and mean you no harm.
We don’t say Selam Alekum. We have a much more direct way of talking.
We don’t beat around the bush with selam alekum.
we don’t shout out with our remote control unmanned drones to our brother and sister civilians selam?n alekum.
We don’t want to beat around the bush. We are spreading democracy! Damn the Bush!
The New American Century plan is clear! Nowhere is Selam Alekum!
The imperial fleet is aimed toward the nearest star and it’s almost there! Roast a
marshmallow now. When we get closer it’ll be too hot for s’more.
