I have an idea that comes from personal experience; it is not easy and requires a lot of dedication to the causes of developing a an alternative society that is not based on an illegal tender. If you are working a job that is not minimum wage and if you are dedicated then I would suggest finding the classified ads in your local news paper and apply for the nearest manual labor job that pays poorly. Once you are hired start organizing a union if one does not exist. The worst that can happen is you might get fired but at least you will have done semething slightly more constructive and action oriented. I have done this myself – I am by training a network engineer but because I am extremely dissatisfied with capitalism, I found a job in a warehouse that paid minimum wage and started talking about unionizing. Sadly the workforce at this place is exhausted and the place is run like a prison and none of the workers feel they have any popular backing to take on such an action. For example who will pay the bills if they are all fired; who will support their families. This is precisely the kinds of things we have to do if we want to win. We have to support these people and tie them into a larger movement. If we are only going to talk and do very little we will not get results. There is no other way. We can discuss and argue all we want but without sensible organizing and action we’re just kidding ourselves.
