A CONSTITUTION FOR RETRIBUTION
WE THE PEOPLE reserve our right to live
as we elect. To plunder and abuse
your gifts, in any shape or form we choose.
The games we play with Nature’s forces give
fortunes bold, for actions not excessive.
The ground we gain is worth the land we lose.
Our future stands before you who accuse,
of your censure we remain dismissive.
I THE PLANET reserve my right to die
when I am murdered. To never renew
the lands I nurtured, which lie infertile
and deserted. Fire through my punctured sky
burns my facade. Death reigns where life once grew.
Falling on deaf ears my screams are futile.
