Despite my affection for work,
my work, my job, my place of employment,
when the weekend finally comes
I remember what a soul crushing violator
the necessity of accommodating, pleasing
selling myself, my soul, my principles
to make ends meet be
I am compelled to buy, consume, liquify, liquorfy
to punish myself, my liver
and thoroughly wash
and thoroughly wash
and thoroughly wash
my mind and my soul, so that
I can arise Monday morning
put on my white shirt,
smile, go back,
face my violator
and continue my sentence…
