Leonidas Oikonomakis

 Leonidas Oikonomakis is an activist and a member of the hip hop group "Social Waste". He holds a BA in International and European Studies from the University of Piraeus (2005), and an MA in International Development: Poverty, Conflict, and Reconstruction pathway from the University of Manchester (2006). He has been a research associate of the University of Crete, as well as of the Center for European Studies of Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey. Currently, he is a researcher at the European University Institute, Florence. His main research interests include theories and practices of international development and social change, poverty, sustainability, social movements. He writes in English and his native Greek, yet his articles have also been translated into French, Urdu, Hindi, Arabic, Bahasa Indonesia, Italian, Portuguese.
