Steve Thornton has been a resident of Hartford, CT for 40 years, and an activist all his life. He recently retired from his position as a vice president of District 1199 SEIU, the largest healthcare workers union in Connecticut. In 2013 he created the Shoeleather History Project, which documents and promotes "history from below." With walking tours, a website, and his recent book on the Wobblies, Steve explores the stories of ordinary people who are the real makers of history.
