At the very end of this blog post, from almost four months ago, I said that Venezuela’s legislative elections “will not take place until December of 2015”
Nearly four months later, a date of December 6, 2015 has been announced.
Psychic powers on my part?
No, it has long been obvious for anyone has been paying attention that December is when the election would take place.
Reuters reports that Venezuelan opposition leader Leopoldo Lopez is considering an “end his protest, given that one of his demands – a date for the vote – has been met”.
By the same deluded logic I should demand that Reuters publish an article tomorrow about any topic and, when they do, claim they bowed to my will. Fortunately for Lopez, the international press constantly shields his camp from the ridicule it deserves. At the same time, the international press leaps at anything they can find to ridicule the Venezuelan government. That explains why I feel obliged to make fun of corporate journalists.
They deserve it.
