Wisewords Bookclub: March 2011 – EVERY WEDNESDAY in MARCH.

On Wednesday 9 March Carol Dyhouse discusses her book "Glamour: Social History, Women and Feminism" examining with wit and insight the history and meaning of costume, cosmetics, perfume and fur at The Luxe (London) as part of the Wisewords Bookclub programme of events celebrating Women's History Month, which will hold events every Wednesday of March, featuring "women writers promoting new and recent works with readings, Q & A sessions, general chit chat and cocktail drinking of course!"


Wednesday 2nd March
Elizabeth Haynes (Into the Darkest Hour) and Lesley Thomson (A Kind of Vanishing). In discussion about their own novels & women crime writers.
Wednesday 9th March

Wednesday 16th March
Jay Merrill presents authors Elizabeth Baines, Tania Hershman, Susannah Rickards, Sarah Salway and Catherine Smith – award winning poetry & short stories writers from Salt Publishing.
Wednesday 23rd March
Grey Hen Press presents an evening of exciting new work by older women with 10 of their best poets who say it with style!
Wednesday 30th March
Karen French discusses her book Gateway to the Heavens in which she expresses her lifelong passion for the simple patterns that underlie our lives.
