In the great land of “the United States of amnesia, as described by Gore Vidal, we as a whole seem quite vulnerable to leadership class propaganda that pushes us first in one herd direction and then another.
Some nearly 1,000,000 deaths due to US invasion of Iraq greatly still outnumbers what Russia is doing on its border. This in no way justifies Russia’s brutality! But there is so much to what is happening that it does take time to come up to speed on events. Our mainstream media does not help at all. And while the Brown University stats can give us such numbers, numbers alone can in no way fully describe the utter and irremediable horror that has been inflicted on so many countries by the West (read principally the US) in many countries, not only a so-called “20-year war in Afghanistan,” a much-used catch phrase that does not adequately describe the brutality of events in Afghanistan.
