What could you possibly do against those who are willing to kill you?
How could you cut down a fence?
How could you stand in front of a bulldozer?
You end up standing helpless on the sidelines and watch them laugh in their numb indifference
Or die
If you die, will it make the difference?
Will the shock bring remorse?
Will the shock break down the wall?
Will the shock just bring out more denial and numb, indifferent laughter?
Is there anything more extreme you can do, to rattle the heart of the man with the gun?
No flower in the barrel will save us
No March on to the prison walls
No dead
There are only so many times you can cross the red line and come out without a scratch
Or maybe you’re never quite unscathed, at all?
Little by little they leave their mark upon you
Until your struggle becomes that of the living dead
What could you possibly do against those who are willing to kill you?
What could you possibly do when you’re dead?
Scar tissue serves as a memory
The stories of our lives told at every intersection of our body
Given enough trauma, one can separate the body from the soul
If the body still functions
You can fight
Or die
