This course will present the long and exciting history of militant investigation and workers inquiry from Karl Marx to the modern forms of inquiry including co-research, cartography, drifts, militant ethnography, testimonials, and guerrilla history.
Course Description
This course will develop and assess concepts for use in understanding societies and history with the intention of changing to a better world. In essence, the course seeks to provide tools for thinking clearly and rapidly about complex situations of social life and activism. Upon completion students will understand the role of social theory and have well developed opinions of contending "conceptual toolboxes" they might employ, plus some practice in doing so.
