Anne Holmes

Anne Holmes is a freelance photojournalist, writer, producer of multimedia reportage, and a classically trained artist. Since 2007, she has covered conflict, environmental and human rights issues in Africa, South Asia, the Middle East, and is currently working on a long term documentary on the Kurds. Her photographs have been published by the likes of The New York Times, The Montreal Gazette, Reuters, Internazionale, Handicap International, Monocle, Silvershotz and Vice UK. She won 1st Place in the 2008 Black and White Spider Awards for her photo of a young mine victim in Afghanistan, was nominated for the 2009 UNICEF Photo of the Year contest, shortlisted for the 2009 Anthropographia Award, and her multimedia dispatch on the Kenyan Crisis screened at 4 major international photography and film festivals in 2010, including the Human Rights Film Festivals of Geneva and Montreal, and NY Photo Festival.
